The Golf Digest Volvo Open will take place on the 18th of August at the K Club Smurfit course in Straffan Co Kildare. Host venue to the European Open in 2004 and 2005 the championship layout at the Smurfit course is a superb test of golf .The best way to describe The Smurfit Course at The K Club is that of an inland links. However, its true attributes do not stop there. The course has many dramatic landscapes with dune type mounding throughout.

Entry costs €75 per player and is open to all who wish to participate. Only golfers with an official GUI or ILGU handicap can enter the main competition, but all participants can win novelty and raffle prizes. All Category winners go through to the Grand Final and will be in with a chance to lift the biggest silver trophy in the history of Irish sport – The Golf Digest Volvo Champions Cup.
