Galgorm Castle Golf Club is home to The Northern Ireland Open and is one of Ireland's finest championship courses, set in the grounds of one of the island's most historical estates.
This exciting course has a rich and colourful history to be explored with mysterious stories to be uncovered, dating all the way back to 1607 and King James I. The Golf Club has made recent history as well, becoming the first to host PGA EuroPro Tour in Northern Ireland in 2010.
The castle overlooks and dominates the tenth green and a network of souterrains add character at the fifth and eighth greens. The course is exciting for novices and low handicapped golfers alike.
Entry to The Golf Digest Volvo Open is €60 per player and is open to all golfers who wish to participate, even those without an official handicap.
Only golfers with an official GUI or ILGU handicap can enter the main Category competitions.
The categories include: Handicap 0-12, 13-24 and Ladies 0-36.
All golfers, including those without an official handicap can win prizes on all four Par 3 Nearest the Pin competitions, two Longest Drives competitions, as well as the 15 great Raffles Prizes.
All Category winners on the day go through to the Golf Digest Volvo Grand Final, which will be held later this year in October.
The winner will be crowned the Golf Digest Volvo Champion Golfer 2016 and will also receive the The Golf Digest Volvo Champions Cup - the biggest silver trophy in the history of Irish sport.
